Eavan O'Neil
Eavan O'Neil was born in 2000 and currently lives and operates out of Saint Louis, Missouri. She attends school at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) where she received the Cougar Pride Scholarship, reducing her tuition by 30%, The Art and Design Scholarship, which covers one semester of tuition, and the Howard A. Latta Scholarship for art. O'Neil will graduate in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in art history. While she has experience with charcoal drawing, acrylic, watercolor, and printmaking, O'Neil primarily focuses on oil paint.
She has experience as a studio assistant and freelance painter, with commissions for live event painting and portraiture. Her work has been featured in The In Art Gallery’s En Plein Air exhibit, The In Art Gallery's 2nd and 3rd Anual Painting exhibit, River Bluff Review-Journal, the Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum’s New Art in the Neighborhood exhibit, The Sheldon Art Galleries Bachelor of Fine Art Exhibit, and Edwardsville Art Center Satelite Gallery. She was awarded the Jonathan Franzen writing award, the Art Write Award in painting for two consecutive years, the Hendrix Booker Award for community art involvement, the Valerie Lee Reynolds Smith Award in Painting, and The Freinds of Art Honor Award in Art History. O'Neil plans to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting after completing her undergraduate thesis in 2023.
